About
Damilola Odusote is renowned for his diverse, prolific, and detailed artworks. His pieces act as a continuous narrative of both his conscious and subconscious mind, often challenging how we perceive everyday life while injecting a sense of humor. Primarily working with graphic ink,
Damilola blends various techniques to give his work a hidden visual depth.
His creative journey spans across multiple artistic forms, with Damilola discovering that dance choreography mirrors his illustrations in their need for precision, logic, and a fluid narrative. As he continues to evolve, he refines his unique style, constantly incorporating new materials and skills.
Damilola’s illustrations grow organically as he works, unfolding naturally on the surface. While inspired by the intricate details and humor in the work of MC Escher and David Shrigley, he cites the vibrancy of urban life and culture as his greatest influence. His artwork is also deeply influenced by the aesthetics of geometry, texture, and addresses complex issues related to politics, race, and the London environment.
A graduate of Camberwell College of Arts with a BA Hons in Illustration, Damilola’s work has been widely displayed at prestigious art fairs in London, Singapore, New York, and across Europe. His international reach extends to China, the US, UAE, and Norway.
